Strategic Focus

The current strategic focus of Gebbie Foundation is to rejuvenate downtown Jamestown through economic development to make it an attractive place to work, live, shop, and visit. This shall be done by leveraging financial and human resources through collaboration, cooperation, and partnership. Continued support of the Urban Design Plan (UDP), UDP 2.0 and other relevant plans via selected contributions and commitment of staff time to those organizations and entities whose mission supports the plans’ implementation shall be prioritized.

Investments vs. Grants
In order to make the greatest impact on community and economic development within the City of Jamestown, the Gebbie Foundation takes a proactive rather than a reactive stance when accepting funding proposals. The Foundation follows the practice of inviting entities to apply based on objectives identified by the Board of Directors.

Chautauqua Grants logoApplication Process:  An unsolicited application may be considered if it falls within the above stated Strategic Focus and if it is submitted by an organization with 501(c)(3) status with the Internal Revenue Service. In this case, a prospective applicant should create an account on Chautauqua Grants to upload a 1-2 page Letter of Inquiry (LOI) for review (www.chautauquagrants.org). Staff at the Foundation will receive a notice that the letter was uploaded. Please allow 2 weeks from the date of submission for a decision on the LOI. If approved, the website will open a draft application for you to complete.
